Guidance on browsers and operating systems
The following document breaks down user requirements for using TextKit. We recommend that these are reviewed to ensure you get the best performance out of your TextKit implementation.
The amount of RAM available has a significant impact on how well a computer’s browsers handle TextKit. Insufficient RAM can impact page load times as well as cause browser crashes.
We use Octane to measure the performance of hardware. Octane is a benchmark developed by Google that measures JavaScript performance. A higher Octane score correlates to faster page load times. Octane factors in your computer hardware and browser choice.
To deliver the best possible experience, we keep our list of supported browsers and operating systems short. If you use TextKit on an older version of the above browsers, browsers not listed, or a browser extension which modifies your user agent, you may be unable to use TextKit as we don’t fix bugs or issues for unsupported browsers. In order to ensure the best possible user experience, including all the latest features and security updates, please make sure your browser and operating system are up-to-date.
